William D. Okrent

Attorney Bill Okrent offers firm clients the experience gained through more than 38 years of legal practice.  For 17 years he practiced insurance defense law; thereafter, he formed a law firm with his wife where his practice was focused on personal injury law and workers’ compensation for injured workers.  During these tenures, Bill tried numerous injury cases, including wrongful death and medical malpractice cases.  He has handled hundreds of motion hearings and depositions.

As a former plaintiff’s injury lawyer, I understand well the strategies and tactics often used by opposing counsel.  Having practiced on ‘both sides of the fence,’ I have a well-balanced perspective on obtaining the best result for my clients

In addition to his practice, Bill served as a part-time municipal judge in Sisters early in his career.  He also has been asked to serve as an arbitrator, and has arbitrated dozens of cases.  Bill’s practice now is devoted primarily to workers’ compensation matters for self-insured employers.

Bill and his wife have two grown children.  When not practicing law, Bill enjoys running, cross-country skiing, bluegrass music, backpacking, and day hiking.  He has climbed many of the high peaks in Oregon and Washington, and Mt. Shasta in California.
