Attorney John Barr’s practice is focused litigation and administrative law, including defense of workers’ compensation claims.
In addition to obtaining positive results for my clients, clear and consistent communication is at the heart of my practice. Communication builds trust and sustains quality relationships, and I believe the best lawyers are the ones with trusting, quality relationships with their clients.
John brings to the firm a background in administrative law, previously working as an Assistant General Counsel for the State of Florida, Department of Economic Opportunity. As an attorney with the State of Florida, John handled litigation matters arising from the Department’s implementation of land use and reemployment assistance programs. Additionally, John handled legal issues involving the procurement of contractors and the distribution of funds for community development and infrastructure projects throughout Florida. John also served as counsel for the Division of Strategic Development. In this capacity, he negotiated and drafted contracts to promote economic growth in the state, and ensured the Division complied with federal and state law in procuring businesses distributing funds.
John chose to make the Pacific Northwest home after he was sent to Oregon as part of a program to build trails and promote ecological sustainability in Oregon’s National Forests.
Aside from practicing law, John enjoys hiking, camping and enjoying time with his 3 dogs (Kona, Lupo, and Remington). He also closely follows the ups and downs of his hometown team, the Florida State Seminoles.
