Overview

Nicolas K. Ball

In representing businesses and insurers in workers’ compensation matters, it is essential to work with physicians and to understand the details of each case so that the statutes can be applied to an injured worker’s condition and treatment.  By working with physicians and understanding treatment details and prognosis, I help clients understand their legal obligations concerning each worker.

Nicolas Ball is an experienced litigator who works exclusively with insurers and self-insured employers in workers’ compensation and employer liability matters.  His workers’ compensation defense practice includes representing companies in numerous industries in a wide variety of workers’ compensation matters.

Nicolas uses his litigation experience and in-depth knowledge to thoroughly evaluate cases and craft the most pragmatic and effective defense strategies possible so that companies understand their legal obligations in response to each injury case.  Whether through a settlement, trial, or appeal, he is committed to tenaciously defending employers and working tirelessly toward a favorable outcome.

In addition to his legal practice, Nicolas is also passionate about helping others.  Before joining the firm, Nicolas worked at a non-profit organization focused on combating human trafficking. He also worked as a research intern at a non-partisan, Washington DC think tank providing research and analysis of defense and foreign affairs related to the Syrian Civil War. Nicolas’s pro bono experience has given him the opportunity to assist victims of human rights violations and sexual crimes in various matters.

When not vigorously defending businesses and insurers, Nicolas enjoys reading and writing, traveling, exercising, and competitive match of ping pong.  He is also an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys everything from hiking and snowshoe trips to exploring coastal tidal pools.
